All he wanted was to break through her tough exterior.
All she wanted was to be left alone.
When they finally got together, it was everything.
Explosive. Epic. Delicious.
And then he found his calling. The military.
And she was proud. And jealous. She wanted him home. With her. Not half-way around the world where their relationship was defined by quick calls, video chats, and letters.
She knew it was wrong. She knew it was crazy. She asked him to choose.
And he did.
Falling head-over-heels in love was the easy part. Sweet. Sexy. Good.
Loving a man who is always gone, deployed, and proud to serve his country takes courage and sacrifice.
All she wanted was for him to stay.
STAY WITH ME is a story told in parts. We’ll hope you’ll stay with us as the story develops, and we encourage you to share STAY WITH ME with your friends.
EXCERPT:
My father broke my mother’s heart before I was born, and now, some twenty years later, she is still not over it. Theodore Loren Roberts was a twenty-year old Navy pilot when they met. After only seven months of dating, he asked my grandpa for my mother’s hand in marriage. Grandpa made them wait until Mom was eighteen. On the evening of my mom’s eighteenth birthday, Mom and Dad married. A month later, Dad was deployed and never came back. His helicopter crashed, and details about what and how are why are still sketchy to this day. They never recovered his body. They gave Mom a flag and awarded Dad a medal posthumously. I’m told, my father is a hero.
Though she rarely talked about him, I would sometimes hear her cry herself to sleep at night. When I found her in the morning, she would be fast asleep, holding his photo to her chest. He never even knew she was pregnant. She never had a chance to tell him. They were over before they had even begun.
I’d always wondered why we’d stayed here, where military families and bases abound. Every day there were constant reminders of the entity that took my father from us. My father, a man I had only known through a few photos, and yet, felt mildly connected to, was a constant but distant presence in my life. And yet, despite our pain, Mom still found it in her heart to volunteer to help new, young military wives with their kids, help them get settled, and stay sane.
People had always let us know how sorry they were for us and told us how brave we are. I remember being pitied by school counselors and teachers in grade school for not having a father and also being made fun of middle school. One year, someone started a rumor that my mom and I were abandoned and hat Dad had left us and wasn’t such a hero after all. Kids could certainly be cruel, and adults, even well-meaning ones, even more so.
Military life could be hard and lonely, and Mom didn’t want that for me. And even though Mom didn’t mention Dad much, whenever a guy with a crew cut showed the least little bit of interest in me, she would admonish me with a shake of her head and a stern glance. When we were alone, she would say, “I’m sure you know better than to get involved with a man in the military.”
Mom was right. I knew that. I would never want anyone to go through what she did or for them to struggle like we had, just to get by. My father’s death took nearly everything from us, and as I got older, my own resentment and pain was too much for my mom to take. She said I was selfish and too wrapped up in my own pain to see clearly. Maybe she was right. Or maybe I was just pissed that she had put so much stock into what a man could do for her, that she had subjected us both to an uncertain future with a man who could be killed at any time. Or maybe it was the fact that she had never gotten over him, that she had allowed herself to fall so deeply in love with a man whose death ruined for her life. Ruined both our lives. Or maybe it was because, in my heart, I knew I would never find that kind of love, ever.
Mom never remarried. Never even so much as had a date, as far as I know. Every now and again, she’d mention how Tom Selleck could ring her bell any day, but that’s about it. It’s like she had forgotten what it’s like to be loved. Or like her heart was forever broken and could never be repaired. I think the whole situation was too much for us both. When she was home, I was at school or working. When we were both home, we usually got into arguments over something stupid. Being around my mother was unbearable and sad.
So, I moved away instead of staying home for college like most of the kids around here. After three and a half years of being away, our relationship has improved. Tolerable. I now looked forward to seeing her when she has time to meet me for lunch or cook me the occasional dinner. What can I say? I’m a Southern girl. My happy moments revolve around food and country music.
I was about as far from home as I could get without leaving the state. If I’d stayed closer to home, my relationship with my mother would likely be irreparable by now. As much as I hated to admit it, her voice was always in my head. Warning me. Making sure I didn’t make the same mistakes she had. And now that I was in college and about to graduate, I was free to make my own mistakes without her judgment and criticism.
I’d managed to make it to my senior year without screwing things up too badly by refusing to date anyone — period. I’d gone out on group dates, or hung out with guys, but that was about the extent of it. To describe me as a prude would be misreading the situation. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to have sex. I could manage that on my own. I just wanted to wait. For the right guy, the right time, and the right reason.
And, as my luck would have it, all of that would change, and I would find myself falling for the wrong guy, at the wrong time, and for the wrong reason. I was going to graduate from college in a few months, and the last thing I needed was complications. And if there was one thing I had learned from my roommate and my mother: relationships were always complicated.

Publication date: August 15th 2017
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
Zade Holder has always been a free-spirited young woman, from a long dynasty of tarot-card readers, fortunetellers, and practitioners of magick. Growing up in a small town and never quite fitting in, Zade is determined to forge her own path. She leaves her home in Tennessee to break free from her overprotective mother Dela, the local resident spellcaster and fortuneteller.
Zade travels to Las Vegas and uses supernatural powers to become part of a premiere magic show led by the infamous magician Charles Spellman. Zade fits right in with his troupe of artists and misfits. After all, when everyone is slightly eccentric, appearing ”normal” is much less important.
Behind the scenes of this multimillion-dollar production, Zade finds herself caught in a love triangle with Mac, the show’s good-looking but rough-around-the-edges technical director and Jackson, the tall, dark, handsome and charming bandleader.
Zade’s secrets and the struggle to choose between Mac or Jackson creates reckless tension during the grand finale of the show. Using Chaos magick, which is known for being unpredictable, she tests her abilities as a spellcaster farther than she’s ever tried and finds herself at death’s door. Her fate is left in the hands of a mortal who does not believe in a world of real magick, a fortuneteller who knew one day Zade would put herself in danger and a dagger with mystical powers…
Handbook for Mortals is the first book in the series of this urban fantasy, paranormal romance series by author Lani Sarem.
Following Zade through the trials–and romance–of finding her own place in the world, readers will identify with their own struggles to fit in, reflected in the fantastic, yet mundane world of Zade’s life.
Handbook for Mortals is in development as a motion picture set to debut in 2018
EXCERPT:
“Hopefully I wasn’t interrupting something important,” Mac said, with no attempt at feigning actual sincerity. I could tell he didn’t care that he had interrupted, or that he had been rude.
“Just kindness.” I responded. I don’t think he expected my answer to be truthful, and he looked taken aback. He had probably expected me to say “Oh, no worries! Nothing important.” He made no comment, but backed off a little. When he continued talking, he had a bit less snap in his voice.
“I’d like to schedule a crew call for you once your contract has been signed. You, me, and all of our techs, so we can go over your trick and map out how it will be safely implemented into the show.” He knew that calling what I had done a “trick” instead of an illusion I would take as a slight. It’s sort of like telling someone who had just won an Olympic gold medal and was proudly wearing it around their neck, that their necklace was cute. Mac kept incessantly tapping his Sharpie on the side of his clipboard and shifting his weight between his feet.
I stood up slowly and calculated, looking him square in the eye, which probably surprised him a bit, since he was at least six feet tall. I’ve always enjoyed the luxury of being a tall girl. I’m five foot nine inches and so while I don’t usually tower above any guys I know, I can definitely look them directly in the eye. Most girls who at five feet five inches (which, I believe, is an average height for a woman) have to look up. My height was an advantage that I never took for granted and here, again, I was happy that I didn’t have to look up to him—figuratively or literally. In heels I could even be as tall or taller than him and I’ve always loved that part about being the height I am. I half smiled and slowly spoke, “Maybe you misunderstood. I don’t show anyone how it’s done. That wasn’t just for the audition. I handle this illusion on my own.”
Mac held still for a moment, and then glanced up from his clipboard, looking irritated. He pursed his lips and flared his nostrils. The tapping stopped. He dropped the clipboard from his stomach and held it in his hand while pointing his finger directly in my face. “Listen, lady, I don’t know who else you worked for, but we don’t do that Lone Ranger stuff around here. I’m the technical director and in charge of everyone’s safety, no matter how stupid you want to be. You do what I say, and I keep your pretty self from getting hurt. Got it?” I’m fairly certain he growled at me as he spoke.
Myriad thoughts ran through my head and I’m pretty sure several seconds passed in silence as we stared each other down. I could feel my hands tightening into fists. I really did want to punch him. I could see it happening. I’m not strong by any means but I’m also not a wimp. I wouldn’t have broken anything, but he would have been bruised and sore. I quickly ran through the possible outcomes of punching the technical director on my first day of work. It didn’t really seem to be the best idea.
I leaned into him so closely that it might have looked like to an outsider that I was about to kiss him. I huffed a little and my words were slow and deliberate. “I understand this is your job and all, but I don’t think you’re listening to me,” I hissed. I tapped his chest with my finger and he jolted a bit at my touch. He looked at me like I was speaking some kind of foreign language.
I’m not listening? Lady, you need your ears cleaned,” he snarled back. He turned around to walk away, as if that was the end of our conversation. If he was trying to piss me off more, it was working.
I grabbed him by the shoulder, stopping him in his tracks and swinging him around to face me. My face had flushed and I’d raised my voice to a full yell. “And you need to get some manners. I’m not showing you how it’s done, okay? If we have a problem I can go to another show where the technical director doesn’t have a God complex. I’m not a girl who needs a knight in shining armor.” I was practically snarling at him.
Mac gritted his teeth and looked like he might hit me, but I knew that wasn’t really an option for him. Guys like him didn’t hit women, no matter how mad we made them. He laughed loudly. “Ha! Good luck finding a Technical Director who will treat you like the princess you clearly think you are. If I found you locked in a tower, I promise I’d leave you there.” Mac whipped around again and this time saw Riley, who had been standing just a few feet away from us the whole time. Riley was pretending not to be paying too much attention, but you could tell that was all he had been doing. I couldn’t blame him. Mac glowered at Riley and barked, “Where’s C.S.? Riley, go find Charles. Now!”
“On the move,” Riley replied with a nervous, almost panicked look on his face as he ran off to the side and disappeared.

Animal Graph by M.Black

Animal Graph
by M Black

My rating: 4 stars

Series: Graph - Book 1
Publisher: Eloquent Enraptures Publishing
Publication Date: June 7, 2017
Genre: YA fantasy | Post-Apocalyptic
Print Length: 157 pages
Available from: Amazon

Set in the Amazonian jungles of South America, M.Black weaves an action-packed tale in this original YA Amazonian Eco-Fic Dystopia set forty-two years after a nuclear war. Jin—a prisoner of King Borran—and Adan—another Graphed—have to fight for their survival in a utopia gone wrong. In a world where animal cells and neural tissue have been grafted into humans, and humans are connected by brain waves to chosen animals from the Amazon, will Jin and Adan survive? Will they ever find their Animal Graph counterparts? Can the Earth find harmony with humanity and the animals or will those wanting to destroy it all win?

Socially relevant, dark and sexy, with themes that hang on environmental concerns and animal welfare…

Animal Graph by M.Black

Animal GraphIt isn’t enough that the world as we know it has ended after a nuclear war. Now the beauty of the Amazon Jungle has become part of a heinous nightmare where prisoners, incarcerated for simply trying to survive in a world where the masses are yoked to their leaders become lab rats for horrendous experiments.

Human prisoners have become the hosts for animal cell and neural tissue grafting. These humans have also been connected by brain waves to chosen animals. When two prisoners escape into the jungle, their new abilities come to life in an effort to escape detection and find freedom. Jin and Adan must combine their talents and learn to trust one another in a desperate quest to survive in a world gone mad.

M.Black’s ANIMAL GRAPH is more than a dystopian tale from the creative genius of this author’s mind. It raises the question of survival of the fittest, of living in harmony and questioning what if the odds are artificially stacked against these new creations. As new senses come online, new abilities are discovered and evil is on their heels, will they learn that only the strong will survive, but will they find who the strong really are?

A thought-provoking read, told quickly and in a manner that leaves so much open for discovery. These characters were just beginning to flower as this tale ended.

Molten Dusk Karissa Laurel (The Norse Chronicles #3)

Molten Dusk (The Norse Chronicles, #3)Her life, a chance for love and the fate of the world are on the line for Solina as Karissa Laurel adds her third book to the Norse Chronicles. MOLTEN DUSK is a modern day journey into ancient Norse mythology and the never ending battle of good versus evil. Gods stand with humans as one wolf of mythical origins, Skoll sets his sights on destroying Solina unless she kills him first. Then again, have you ever tried to kill a powerful and ancient deity?

Is it possible Skoll will become only one of many threats to the world and Solina? As Solina searches for her own inner strength, her heart will be tested by the god of thunder who only wants to love and protect her, but can she truly find peace with an immortal being whose grasp of humanity is wavering, at best? Is the time right for them? Somewhere forces are gathering to bring on the apocalypse in a bloody battle of power…time is running out…will the ghosts of Solina’s past give her the strength and clarity she needs to focus on victory, trust and hope for a better future?

Karissa Laurel brings the series home with a sense of closure for unanswered questions, all while running at a high tension velocity in a chaotic world on the cusp of implosion if Solina fails. Nope, no pressure here…none. The possible end of times brings out the best, the worst and the most desperate in these characters as who can be trusted and who cannot become all too apparent, but will it matter in the end? Ms. Laurel’s sense of timing and humor shine through as little things help to balance out the dire straits Solina and her allies are in.

I received an ARC edition from Karissa Laurel in exchange for my honest review.

#Cover Reveal - Three Heart Echo by Keary Taylor

Three Heart Echo
Keary Taylor
Publication date: September 12th 2017
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Suspense
The demented thing is that this evolved from the most sickly sweet, heart-wrenching love story you’ve ever heard. I went to Sully because I just couldn’t get over Jack’s murder. I couldn’t deal.

Iona came to me for the same reason most did: because there was no closure. A love cut too short. She begged me to open the gate between the living and the dead.
We should have left it shut.

This. This is not a love story. This is a possession story. A story of lies. A story of two faces. This is a story of death and violent echoes from the other side.
And there will be no happy endings.

Author Bio:
Keary Taylor is the USA TODAY bestselling author of over twenty novels. She grew up along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains where she started creating imaginary worlds and daring characters who always fell in love. She now splits her time between a tiny island in the Pacific Northwest and Utah, with her husband and their two children. She continues to have an overactive imagination that frequently keeps her up at night.

Hot coffee is a regular fixture in Hailey Warren’s life. Hot guys? Not so much.
Her grueling shifts at a cafe in the heart of the city’s business sector are rarely punctuated by anything special, so when the gorgeous heir to the security company next door strides into Hailey’s life, it feels like punctuation with a capital P (or D, depending on your preferred terminology).
Jordan Knox is enough to send her heart racing faster than a triple shot of espresso, and when the attraction proves to be mutual, no hidden corners or empty offices are safe from their game of cat and mouse.
But when she’s ready to drop the pretenses, Jordan continues to hold back, and Hailey realizes he’s been hiding secrets that could make whatever’s brewing between them boil over and burn.
‘Latte Girl’ is a full length, standalone novel, and the debut title from author Katia Rose.
EXCERPT:
I manage to get my head out from under the desk, and find myself face to face with his crotch.
Interesting development, notes my very unhelpful brain.
I move my eyes from his crotch to his horrified face.
“I’m— I’m not. A stalker, that is. I wasn’t hiding. I mean, I was just— wait. Let me get out of here first.”
Wondering how I managed to get under the desk so quickly in the first place, I try to contort myself enough to escape. I scoot out with my legs still bent up to my earlobes and then try to haul myself to my feet by grabbing the top edge of the desk.
This, of course, overbalances me and I reach out for the only thing I can find to keep me from falling, which just so happens to be the armrests of Jordan’s chair. I catch my balance with my arms braced on either side of him, our faces inches apart.
A soft “Unph” sound escapes my lips.
He blinks.
“Hey,” he finally says.
“Hi,” I reply, my voice breathy.

Author Bio:
Katia Rose is not much of a Pina Colada person, but she does like getting caught in the rain. She prefers her romance served steamy with a side of smart, and is a sucker for quirky characters. EXCERPT:
Seconds after Rebecca disappears around the corner, I feel a presence behind me.
Like right behind me. I turn, expecting to see Scott, who I’m sure is eager to offer an explanation to what I’d just witnessed. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The guy hovering behind me is none other than Zach, his expression just as grim as when I saw him minutes ago. Scratch that, grimmer.
I actually take a step back, I’m so shocked to see him this close, and bump into the wall behind me. Zach takes a step closer and braces his forearm, exactly the way Scott had done, on the wall at the side of my head. He bends his head so his mouth is near my ear. I drag in a breath of air and with it the subtlety of his cologne and warm male skin. Being this close to him after so many weeks is like a kick of excelsior.
“Who’s the guy?” he asks, his voice a low rumble in my ear. It takes everything in me not to shiver as the sound vibrates down my spine.
“A friend.”
His mouth kicks up at the corner into a smirk.
“Right.”
His tone is so obviously disbelieving, now it requires Herculean self-control not to smack him even though I miss him so much my heart hurts.
“Anyway,” he continues, his eyes narrowing and growing hard as flint as he stares down at me. “Here’s the thing. If you’re trying to make me jealous, you’re wasting your time. I wouldn’t want you to put yourself out too much tonight, so remember that and go easy on the guy, ‘kay?”
Raising his head, he flashes me a tight, icy smile and pushes off the wall as he continues to hold my gaze. In his final gesture of arrogance, he runs the back of his index finger gently down my cheek while his jaw ticks. “Have a nice evening, Liv.” With that, he turns and saunters back down the hall.

Is it more important to have roots, or wings?

Garrett Oliver has just settled into his job as heir apparent to one of the most renowned master gardeners in the country. After a difficult few years, he’s found a home and a renewed purpose at a famed resort in the secluded Smoky Mountains. The stars seem to be aligning for Garrett as he plans a future with his college sweetheart and envisions a simple life with her in the mountains of East Tennessee.

Willow Armstrong, fresh off a painful breakup, is coming home to Knoxville to care for her ailing father. She finds herself in the right place at the right time, landing a dream job alongside Garrett—as his boss. As they are thrown together by their work, an undeniable magnetism grows between them, despite the fact that Garrett is ready to start a future with someone else.

Circumstances persist in drawing them closer, and an unexpected opportunity in Colorado prompts Willow and Garrett to wonder if a life together out west might be beyond anything either of them had dared to imagine.

Seeds of Intention by Andrea Thome (Hesse Creek #2)

Seeds of Intention (Hesse Creek #2)Andrea Thome has taken a beautiful backdrop and woven a tale of new beginnings, new bonds and new love amidst the pain of loss, deceit and some unfounded insecurities.

Willow joins the Walland staff after personal events require her to move to Tennessee. Beautiful, intelligent and carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, she still seems to be a perfect fit for this close-knit group.

Garrett has earned his dream job, working with the soil. The only thing missing is his girlfriend halfway across the country, but there is something that catches his male eye about Willow, although perhaps their first meeting actually gave her more of an eyeful! Maybe that would have been the end of their story if Garrett hadn’t found himself suddenly single and life seemed to put these two on a collision course for romance, if they dare to take a chance.

Meanwhile, the small group of friends who make up the heart of Walland and its beautiful resort have their own excitement to share, not that it stops them from playing matchmaker for Willow and Garrett! Just when things are looking like smooth sailing for this tentative pair, from out of nowhere, Willow is blindsided with news that threatens to sink her newfound peace of mind and happiness…

Sweet romance lovers, this one is for YOU! Andrea Thome’s SEEDS OF INTENTION has just enough spice to create passion, just enough turmoil to add depth and reality and just enough true friendship to go around and leave you smiling! A wonderful quick escape that flows sweet, like melted chocolate, not to mention, the smiles you will get are a bonus!

A Brief Note: I am not a fan of coming into a series after it has begun and when a review was requested, I did contact Andrea Thome to verify that SEEDS OF INTENTION could be read as a standalone romance. Thanks to the brilliant back story recap, I had an idea of what I missed in the first book, but I must say, from that recap, I think to miss book one would be a terrible loss for sweet romance lovers!

My rating: 4 stars

Series: The Kennedy Boys - Book 3.5

The Kennedy Boys go wild on vacation in Ireland!

It’s the summer before they start college, and Faye and Ky are visiting her home turf together—it’s Ky’s first time in Ireland, and her first trip home since her parent’s tragic death.

After a blissful three weeks on their own, they welcome the rest of the Kennedy clan when they arrive on Irish soil for the vacation of a lifetime.

Watch the sparks fly as family emotions run high and the Kennedy boys’ party up a storm, creating mayhem and madness wherever they go.

This dual POV short novel should only be read after Keeping Kyler.

The Irish Getaway by Siobhan Davis
(The Kennedy Boys, Book 3.5)

The Irish Getaway (The Kennedy Boys #3.5)Ireland may never be the same, again as Siobhan Davis takes us all on holiday with the Kennedy family in THE IRISH GETAWAY. Faye is going home for a visit and Ky is right by her side, while the rest of the Kennedy boys turn heads, hearts and toss a few punches as they flirt their way through pubs and parties. It won’t be all fun and games though, as Faye gets to know her newfound family and iron out a few relationship wrinkles there.

I think Siobhan Davis had some fun writing this brief trip as we find it difficult to avoid Faye and Ky’s over-the-top moments of demonstrative love, both physical and verbal! No wonder the rest of the boys give them heck! ...And let’s not forget the boys, eye candy superstars who seem to impress all of the girls with their charm and a few guys with their fists. Pheromones and hormones are moaning in Ireland, for sure.

Certainly action-packed, definitely filled with some emotional moments and the smile factor is off the charts as this lighter than cotton candy snippet brings the boys, their parents and possibly some future love interests together for “LOVE, Kennedy Style.”

I received an ARC edition from Siobhan Davis!

Even the purest of bloodlines can begin in darkness.

Kory has never been afraid to walk down a dark, decrepit street at night for two reasons. One, she can see the villains lurking in the shadows, hear their footsteps as they approach, feel their malicious presence closing the distance. And two, on any given day or night she’s more dangerous than them. Or so she thought.

When the rebellious teen discovers the true evil underbelly of Bishop City, Kory’s life and all she’s ever known is irrevocably shattered. She’s caught between simply surviving and following the path she never knew existed. Rex becomes her teacher and the chemistry between them is both undeniable and forbidden.

Relationships and loyalties are tested and, as Kory falls deeper into this new supernatural world, dark secrets arise, hinting that her destiny might be more than she bargained for. Is she simply another demon hunter? Or is her blood the key to something darker?

***Mature YA. Intended for audiences 17+ due to language, violence, drugs, and some sexual content***

Blood In Iron by J.N. Colon (The Iron Series #1)

Blood In Iron (The Iron Series #1)Kory’s life is as gritty and raw as any living nightmare can be. She has always known she is different, darker and more dangerous than those around her and she fears nothing, because she has the edge of preternatural ability to sense the evil that is lurking in the shadows. Kory is also a teen in crisis, orphaned, living with a drug-addict aunt, keeping it all buried inside, because no one can break down her defenses, until one day, someone did. That someone knows the truth of who and what Kory is and he will be her teacher. Kory’s world has just taken a turn of demonic proportions and she is destined to be the hunter that keeps humanity safe from the evil that lurks in the shadows and Rex will be the forbidden fruit she craves.

BLOOD IN IRON by J.N. Colon will feed your need for that special heroine with attitude, a need to protect and care for others, (but good grief, do NOT acknowledge that), an unbridled mouth and the strength that far surpasses a normal human.

Dark and brittle, J.N. Colon’s style brings Kory’s world to life as she etches each scene with bold clarity and creates characters that are emotionally riveting. Looking for something bold that shouts off the pages at you? BLOOD IN IRON is a strong cornerstone for what looks to be one heck of a series and it is all because of Kory.

#Cover Reveal - Zenka by Alison Brodie

Zenka
Alison Brodie
Publication date: November 2017
Genres: Adult, Romance, Thriller
“She’s the one to die for”
Zenka is a seductive Hungarian pole-dancer with a stubborn streak. When London mob boss, Jack Murray, saves her life she vows to become his guardian angel – whether he likes it or not.
“How can you be my guardian angel,” Jack scoffed. “You’re only five foot two.”
Zenka shrugged, “So vat? I am small, but a grenade is also small.”
Jack receives a letter saying he has a son, Nicholas. Nicholas is a wimp, bullied by his flatmate, pussy-whipped by his girlfriend and terrorised by his elderly patients.
Jack is delighted to be a dad, but he has to tread carefully. People are out to harm him and those close to him. Can he use his wealth, wiles and tough-guy contacts to make a man out of this mouse – before his enemies turn him into mincemeat?
Zenka takes charge. She’s going to “bring out the gorilla” in Nicholas. And she succeeds!
Nicholas transforms from pussycat to mad dog, falls in love with Zenka, and finds out exactly where the bodies are buried – because he buries them. He’s learning fast that sometimes you have to kill … or be killed.
As family ties become more disturbing, questions have to be asked:
How do you tell a mob boss you don’t want to be his son?
And is Zenka really who she says she is?
***
ZENKA is a black comedy/crime thriller/romance set in gangland London in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Praise for ZENKA: “ZENKA is top of my list for best fiction this year. If Tina Fey and Simon Pegg got together to write a dark and hilarious mobster story with a happy ending, ZENKA would be the result!” -Lauren Sapala, Book Reviewer and Writers’ Coach

The Devil’s Revolver by V. S. McGrath Blitz

The Devil’s Revolver
V. S. McGrath
(The Devil’s Revolver Series, #1)
Publication date: September 5th 2017
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult
She is Hettie Alabama — unlikely, scarred, single-minded, and blood bound to a revolver forged by a demon.
The first book in an epic, magic-clad series featuring the Wild West reimagined as a crosscultural stereoscope of interdimensional magic and hardship, The Devil’s Revolver opens with a shooting competition and takes off across the landscape after a brutal double murder and kidnapping — to which revenge is the only answer. Hettie Alabama, only seventeen years old, leads her crew of underdogs with her father’s cursed revolver, magicked to take a year off her life each time she fires it. It’s no way for a ranch girl to grow up, but grow up she does, her scars and determination to rescue her vulnerable younger sister deepening with every year of life she loses.
A sweeping and high-stakes saga that gilds familiar Western adventure with powerful magic and panoramic fantasy, The Devil’s Revolver is the last word and the blackest hat in the Weird West.
Book trailer:
EXCERPT:
Hettie couldn’t say what had woken her; her eyes had simply snapped open and she’d known something was amiss.
Sure enough, she found the rope had been chewed through, the frayed ends still wet. Dammit, Abby. This was the third time in two weeks. She yanked her coat over her thin nightgown, grabbed her boots and Winchester and padded quickly down the stairs. Outside, she pushed her bare feet into the cold, hard leather and checked her rifle’s action, loading it quickly. Coyotes were often seen roaming the ranch, and there’d been rumors of a pack of wolves roving the hills. But out here, it was men Hettie was more afraid of.

Love, Luck, and Clusterf*ck by Bree Dahlia Blitz and #Giveaway

Love, Luck, and Clusterf*ck
Bree Dahlia
(Legal #3)
Publication date: August 14th 2017
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Romance
From the author of the Legal series comes a hot and hilarious new STANDALONE.
I met him on the luckiest day of the year.
Of course, I wasn’t aware of his true identity at the time. I only knew him as the arrogant blond god who gave me a shamrock necklace. For luck.
As if I needed it.
Okay, maybe I did. But it was presumptuous of him to assume I wanted his help – all because he made it his business to pry into my personal conversation.
I, Perry Sommers, want a life makeover.
I want to stop being so impulsive and start acting like a grown up.
I want to settle down and have a real relationship, instead of a series of clusterf*cks.
I want to fall in love. Just not with this man.
But love isn’t fair. It doesn’t care if someone is off-limits, and Stephen Davidson definitely is. I can handle that. Our intense chemistry tests me on a near constant basis. I can handle that too.
What I can’t handle is how much I’ve come to need him in my life. I never expected this infuriating hard-ass to become my best friend, but now that he has, I never want to let him go.
I can’t destroy the bond we share, but there is only so much a woman can take before she breaks.
Before she throws it all away for one perfect night.
** This friends to lovers standalone takes place six years before Legal. It does not need to be read in conjunction with the others in the series. **

Author Bio:
Bree Dahlia is an unconventional romance junkie. She loves reading it but adores writing it even more. Her stories range from lighthearted to sizzling with that satisfying Happily Ever After ending and a touch of the unexpected. She favors themes of friendship, forgiveness, and unconditional love with alpha characters and eccentric tastes.
She holds degrees that she does nothing with and has experienced a long string of jobs that have left her unfulfilled. Only as an author, has she truly found her passion. When not crafting stories in her small Wisconsin town, she hikes unbeaten trails, watches hockey games, and wishes she didn’t detest cooking so much.
Dahlia is her middle name. Her last name is more suitable for a horror writer.
